Envelopes

envelopesLooking Good From The Start

A standard white envelope over printed with black & white print can be used for your campaign. However there is a more striking and effective way to send your mail and stand out from the crowd.
There are two types of envelopes to choose from, Pre-made Then Printed and Printed Then Made. We have listed details of using either for your next marketing campaign.

pre-made then printed

The advantage of using pre-made envelopes is that it is possible to print small quantities relatively inexpensively. The disadvantage is that there are inherent difficulties in printing pre-made envelopes.
Firstly, it is not possible to print closer than 10mm from the edge. Secondly, printing across different thicknesses is not successful. The design requirements for successful pre-made envelope printing are:
• Allow at least 10mm on all sides as a non printing border. Please enquire for print areas of each envelope.
• Print in areas of constant paper thickness - i.e. do not have a block of print running across a thickness change.
• If you are in any doubt about the practicalities of a design please contact us for advice.

printed then made

This way of producing envelopes has none of the limitations of a pre-made envelope. It is possible to print on every part of the envelope, and even print on the inside if that is required.
The disadvantage is that the cost of making envelopes from printed sheets is expensive for smaller runs.
In designing for Printed then made Envelopes it is only necessary to consider the finished envelope layout, and how the design envisaged will fit on to it. If you are in any doubt about the practicalities of a design please contact us for advice.
With Printed then made Envelopes it is also possible to specify entirely non standard sizes and shapes!
We would be pleased to quote for your non standard envelope requirements.
